This art piece is an evolution from my works with natural-dyed yarns and my meditative process. It involves fluorescent yarn and worked it following the beat of techno music as opposed to silence like I normally do. It is a research in itself that shows two sides of me.
Technically, the work is a response to the material moment by moment—but it also reflects how life unfolds. Even with intention, the path is shaped by what arises. Each decision leads to the next, not through control, but through attention and trust in the process.
Cipher to a Muse is built through an intuitive process using store-bought yarn. While some general ideas may exist at the start, each pull, knot, and layer dictates the next step. The composition is never fully planned—it’s shaped in real time by the physical behavior of the material.
The tension, placement, and overlap of the strings are carefully adjusted to create balance, depth, and rhythm. Color choices emerge intuitively, guided by the evolving energy of the piece—some areas call for brightness, others for stillness or contrast. A layer of Mylar behind the strings adds shifting perspective, while spray paint highlights texture and movement.
This large scale art piece was designed to fold as I would need to return to it and control tensions. When closed, all you see is the shinny mylar that covers the surface.
As you open it, the knots start doing their job, the tensions arise, the shapes become evident and the colors unfold.

I am constantly creating new artwork and getting involved in new projects, and I want to hear your vision.
